A 14-year-boy has allegedly jumped to his death from the fifth floor of a Mumbai building.

Police are investigating if the death is linked to the Blue Whale suicide challenge on social media, the Hindustan Times reported.

Police officials told Hindustan Times that there were no clues in the boy’s mobile phone but his friends on a few WhatsApp groups talked about his death being linked to the challenge.

The Blue Whale challenge calls on participants to complete a self-harm challenge over 50 days. It allegedly encourages them to win by committing suicide.

The game has killed more than a 100 children in Russia and UK, HT reported.

An Accidental Death Report has been registered and the police will now question the boy’s friends.
