Identity of the attackers is yet to be identified
An Indian soldier was killed and a further eight injured in an attack on a military convoy on the outskirts of Srinagar in northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday evening.
The identity of the attackers is yet to be established.
Of the eight injured, at least three soldiers are critically wounded, authorities said.

Three companies of a patrol party were returning to their camp around 7:30 pm when the attack took place, said Deepak Kumar, Inspector General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), which is one of India's Armed Police Forces.
“Jawans retaliated but couldn’t fire aggressively given the civilian population. 1 jawan lost his life, while 8 others are injured,” Kumar was quoted as saying by Indian news agency ANI.
