The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly has passed a resolution implementing the Goods and Services Tax.

That now means every single state in the country has implemented the GST.

Jammu and Kashmir was the one state that might have stayed out of the GST.

That would have been troublesome since one of the main aims of the GST was to convert India into one single market, which would have been impossible to do had one of the states stayed out of it.

There were however protests by the Opposition parties as the J&K Assembly passed the resolution.

There have also been protests against the tax in the state.
