Indian Navy on high alert in Mumbai after schoolchildren spot men carrying arms

A high alert has been sounded in India's Mumbai after four men were spotted moving suspiciously near a naval facility in Uran, a port on the west coast.

The men were spotted carrying arms by local schoolchildren in Uran. They were seen moving around the naval ammunition depot INS Abhimanyu in the Karanja area, a naval officer informed.

The Indian Navy has been put on highest alert and search operations are on with marine commandos MARCOS being deployed at the Uran navy base.

Mumbai police too has beefed up security across the city.

Sources in the police said that multiple agencies are probing the matter at the moment.
