Union minister VK Singh's wife Bharti Singh has said that a man is attempting to blackmail her by threatening to reveal her secretly recorded audio conversations, reports NDTV. She has filed an FIR regarding the matter.

In a police complaint, Mrs Singh alleges that a man named Pradeep Chauhan, who is her nephew, threatened her, saying that unless she pays him twenty million Indian Rupees he will post his conversations with her on social media. Singh also told the police that Chauhan has a licensed revolver and has threatened harm to the family.

According to the complaint, Singh says she is not sure of the content but believes they are doctored. She has also said that he has been harassing her with calls threatening to ruin her husband VK Singh's reputation.

Police have also reportedly said that clips are doctored. Singh retired from the army as the chief and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is now one of the two the MoS of External Affairs.
