Indian Kashmir: 3 soldiers, one civilian killed in militant attack

Three soldiers of the Indian Army were killed while three others were injured when militants attacked a patrol party in Shopian district of India's Jammu and Kashmir state.
One civilian woman was also killed when she was hit by a bullet inside her house during the exchange of fire, according to police, DNA reported.
The ambush happened when a joint patrol party of the 44 Rashtriya Rifles and the police were returning after conducting a search operation in Kungnoo village in Shopian, according to police as quoted by DNA.
"While returning from Kungnoo, the CASO party was attacked by unknown militants at Mulu Chitragam at about 2 am, resulting in injuries to six army personnel including two officers. Three of them later succumbed to their injuries", a police spokesman said.
On February 14, four soldiers of the Indian Army including a major were killed and 11 others were injured in two separate encounters in North Kashmir.
