India: Racer Ashwin Sundar and wife burnt to death after BMW car catches fire

Professional car racer Ashwin Sundar and his wife Niveditha were charred to death early Saturday after their BMW rammed into a tree and caught fire in south India’s Chennai.

According to reports, Sundar and his wife were returning from dinner when their vehicle hit a roadside tree on the Santhome High Road.

They were trapped inside as the car was stuck in between the tree and a wall, police said. Soon, the BMW caught fire.

According to The News Minute, both Ashwin and his wife died on the spot. 

27-year-old Sundar was driving the car.

Niveditha was a doctor in a private hospital in the city.
