India: PDP leader shot dead in Kashmir's Pulwama

People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Abdul Gani was today shot dead by militants in the South Kashmir district, in the Pinglena area, police said.

Gani was the PDP district president for Pulwama.
Gani was shot at three times from close range with an AK assault rifle, the police official said, adding two bullets hit him in the chest and one in the shoulder.
Following the shooting, he was rushed to the SMHS Hospital in Srinagar, but later died.
No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the killing so far.
This was the second attack on PDP leaders in last two weeks.
