Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir will bear the educational expenses of the children of 25 CRPF personnel who were killed in an attack by the Maoists in Chhattisgarh's Sukma on Monday.
Gautam Gambhir Foundation will take care of the educational expenses of the children of the soldiers killed, the cricketer's media manager said.
Union Minister of Urban Development and Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation M Venkaiah Naidu has praised the cricketer for the move.
"Compliments to @GautamGambhir for setting an example, pledging to bear educational expenses for kids of #SukmaMartyrs. Inspirational!," he tweeted.
On Monday, 25 CRPF personnel were killed and six others injured when they were attacked by Maoists in Sukma when they were helping the local population in road building activity in the district.
