The first look of Malala Yousafzai's biopic 'Gul Makai' is out and looks like it's going to be a powerful commentary on Pakistan and Malala's life before she was attacked.
The poster speaks for itself and gives a glimpse of how the movie would trace the incredible life of Malala, the youngest Nobel Prize laureate.
Directed by Amjad Khan, the film has been in the making for some time now. The film has been extensively shot in Kashmir and features child actor Reem Sheikh as Malala.
The film's poster shows a girl wearing a headscarf holding a book in her hand. What's intriguing is the fact that one half of the book is caught in flames, which perhaps depicts the struggles that Malala faced in her life during her stay in Pakistan.
The film will aim to capture Malala's spirit, Taliban's attack on her school bus, her recovery from the attack and her winning the Nobel peace prize in 2014.
On 9 October 2012, Malala was shot at by a Taliban gunman as she rode home on a bus after taking an exam in Pakistan's Swat Valley. She was 15 then. She has been a champion for education of the girl-child in her country.
As per reports, the trailer of the film will be out on July 12, 2018.
