An FIR has been registered after Indian Army soldiers allegedly beat up policemen in Ganderbal in Kashmir.

The soldiers, news reports said, were returning from the Amarnath yatra and were in civvies.

The reports said a number of policemen were injured in the scuffle and were taken to hospital.

Photographs from the hospital show the policemen with injuries.

The news reports said that some 30 Army personnel were returning from the Yatra on Friday night.

They were stopped at a police checkpoint.

But instead of stopping, the reports said, the Army men got into a tussle with the cops and beat them up.
