Samsung will recover gold, silver, and other metals from its Galaxy Note 7 which was discontinued last year.
The South Korean electronics giant said that the company will retrieve more than 150 tonnes of metal from the smartphones.
The company had to recall its flagship smartphone and stop its production after reports emerged of incidents where the phone exploded. The battery of the phone was vulnerable to catching fire.
A number of airlines had barred passengers from carrying the phone with them.
Samsung said it will also recycle OLED display modules, memory chips, camera modules and other components.
