Google can now help in quick detection of dengue fever in less developed countries. An analytical tool has been designed that uses Google search data to track the disease.
The research is inspired by a method that the US has been using to track influenza.
Dengue infects over 390 million people worldwide each year and is difficult to monitor with traditional methods. However, it may now be possible to tackle the problem with the new Google research methodology.
