Was British glamour model Chloe Ayling kidnapped or not?

Ayling says she was lured to Milan where she was drugged with horse tranquiliser and abducted. Her kidnappers reportedly wanted to sell her online as a sex slave, but questions have arisen over the kidnapping.

Chloe Ayling is a 20-year-old glamour model from south London, England. She travelled to Milan on July 11 for, she said, a photo shoot that would pay her 600 pounds

Drugged with horse tranquiliser

In Milan, she said, she was abducted by two men. One of them, she said, drugged her with the horse tranquiliser ketamine

Transported to Turin

Ayling was then stuffed into a bag, put in the boot of a car, and driven 120 miles to a rural home in the village of Borgial near the French border

Ayling said she was handcuffed and adhesive tape strapped over her mouth. And that she had to breathe through a small hole in the bag

Saved by her son

Ayling said she was freed when her captors learned that she had a two-year-old son. They told her it was against the 'rules' of their organisation and that their superiors were angry

One of her kidnappers told Ayling he had earned more than ?15m (13.5m pounds) in the last five years. He said all the girls are sent to the Middle East. 'When the buyer gets tired of the girl bought by auction (they) can give them to other people, and when it is no longer of interest they are to become a ?tiger meal',' he added

Escorted back to the British consulate

On July 17, Ayling was dropped off to the British consulate in Milan by Lukasz Pawel Herba. Herba, 30, is of Polish origin but lives in Britain. He has been arrested

Italian police released this image of the home where Ayling was allegedly kept captive for close to a week. She said she was made to lie on the floor, with her hands and feet tied to a chest of drawers

Fake news?

Questions over the kidnapping have arisen after it was revealed that Ayling went shoe shopping with Herba. Was she in on it then? is the question being asked. Her lawyer has said no, that she went shopping with Herba because she was afraid of him, and had been told that she would be killed if she tried to make a run for it
