Modi tops Twitter 2017 most followed list; Amitabh, SRK, Virat way behind
India's PM Narendra Modi topped the list of Twitter followers, adding over 13 million followers this year.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to be the most followed Indian on Twitter with 17.5k tweets till date.
He garnered 37.5 million followers, a leap of 52 per cent, while GST implementation, 'Mann ki Baat', the presidential elections and the first anniversary of demonetisation were top topics and hashtags.
As per a Twitter report capturing trends in 2017, Modi saw his follower base increase 52 per cent to 37.5 million (as of December 5), from 24.6 million in 2016.
'@imVkohli'- The twitter handle of Virat Kohli comes on number 10 on the list with 20.8 million followers.
Though the Bollywood stars dominate the list the only two cricketers who could made it to the Twitter Top-10 position were cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar at number 8, with 21.7 million followers and Virat Kohli at No-10.
With 1,319 tweets till date, Indian caption Virat Kohli made it to the list for the first time. (Agencies)
