Mi Mix: Xiaomi’s first phone with edge-to-edge display

Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has unveiled the Mi Mix smartphone, which features an edge-to-edge display. The phone is being referred to as a concept phone, but strangely enough, it carries a price tag along with the release date

The Mi Mix is Xiaomi’s first smartphone with an "edgeless design". It features a 6.4-inch display with a 91.3 per cent screen-to-body ratio. (WION)

The rear camera on the phone is accompanied by a dual-tone LED flash. Right below the camera lens is a fingerprint sensor. (WION)

The Mi Mix sports a 5 megapixel front camera, which is located at the bottom right corner. It also rotates upside-down for selfies. (WION)

According to Xiaomi, the front camera on the Mi Mix is 50 per cent smaller than traditional camera modules. (WION)

Xiaomi has also designed a leather case for the Mi Mix. It costs $44.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix will go on sale in China from November 4. The 4 GB variant is priced at $516 and the 6 GB model at $590. (WION)

The Mi Mix has a full ceramic body. Both the rear and the side buttons are made out of ceramic. (WION)


At the heart of the Mi Mix is a Snapdragon 821 chipset. It's the same processor that powers the Google Pixel smartphone. (WION)

Xiaomi's Mi Mix comes in two versions - 4 GB RAM (with 128 GB storage) and 6 GB RAM (with 256 GB storage). The latter features an 18-karat gold rims around camera. (WION)
