Nandita Das’ Manto premiered at the 71st Cannes Film Festival. Based on the life of acclaimed author Saadat Hasan Manto, the film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Rasika Dugal, Divya Dutta and Tahir Raj Bhasin. The cast and crew of the film were present at the premiere.

The Last Colour

Veteran actress Neena Gupta made her debut at the Cannes Film festival this year alongside celebrity chef Vikas Khanna. Khanna has directed Neena Gupta in the film The Last Colour the poster of which was unveiled at the festival.

Manish Malhotra

Ace designer Manish Malhotra associated with premium ice cream brand Magnum, made his debut appearance at the festival.

Sir

Indian scriptwriter-director Rohena Gera's 'Sir', a love story set against the backdrop of a class divide and starring actor Tillotama Shome in the lead, was selected for the Cannes Film Festival's the Critics' Week sidebar. The film was screened at the festival.

Mallika Sherawat

Mallika Sherawat, a regular at Cannes every year, was present at the festival this year as well. Sherawat rasied awareness around the condition of child prostitutes in India.

Huma Qureshi

This was the second appearance for Huma Qureshi at the Cannes Film Festival. She attended the festival as an ambassador of Grey Goose.
