How Adityanath's government achieved the feat

Over 1,87,000 earthen lamps were lit in the grand Diwali celebration 'Deepotsav' at Ayodhya. This was the first time when lamps were lit in such large numbers in an occasion. Breaking all the previous records the celebration made it to the Guinness Book of World Records.

Diwali celebration at Ayodhya broke the record of convicted Ram Rahim

The celebrations beat the record set by jailed self-styled godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh whose followers lit around 1,50,009 lamps achieved at an event organised by him in 2016.
1531 participants had then part in assembling and lighting the lamps for this display,' the official page of Guinness World Record states.
