Days after her husband Prince Philip announced his retirement, Britain's Queen Elizabeth was spotted behind the wheel of her Jaguar car on her way back from Sunday morning service at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor Park.
The Queen, 91, who has multiple vehicles and a chauffeur for Royal events at her service, is known for her love of driving and is often spotted in her cars on the Sandringham estate.
The Queen, who learnt driving while serving as a mechanic in the Women’ s Auxillary Territorial Service during World War 2, is the only person in the UK who is allowed to drive without a license.
Her favourite car though is her Range Rover, in which she often takes her family for drives.
The Queen is likely to be spotted more often than the 95-year-old Prince Phillip who announced he will retire from public engagements later this year. And though she has gradually cut back her workload in recent years, the Queen made a sacred vow before God and her people at her 1953 coronation to serve for life. Experts say she considers the vow unbreakable.
