UK's Harnaam Kaur has been named the youngest woman with a full beard in the 2017 edition of the Guinness World Records released yesterday.
Kaur's beard is "as long as six inches in places", the Guinness World Records' website reported.
The 24-year-old Sikh model, who has been called the 'bearded dame', has polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a medical condition that causes excessive hair growth.
Harnaam announced her record in a Facebook post yesterday, expressing her happiness, and thanked her supporters on Twitter.
''I hope those who read or see my record can take away positivity, inspiration and realise that no matter who you are or what you look like, you are officially amazing! I present to you my record as 'The youngest women with a full beard','' Kaur posted on Facebook.
I appreciate your support so much! Thank you so much love! ???? https://t.co/aTyT0mnMWX— Harnaam Kaur (@harnaamkaur) September 9, 2016

Being a victim of bullying in her childhood, Kaur has campaigned for anti-bullying programs.
''At the age of 16 I hit my biggest low. I had been suicidal all year due to immense bullying from school and people in society. I hid away and did not want to venture out into the public,'' Kaur told RocknRoll Bride last year.
The body confidence activist had to wax her face 2-3 times a week. But after a low point in her life, she decided to stop waxing and shaving and keep her facial hair. ''I decided to keep my beard and step forward against society’s expectations of what a woman should look like,'' Kaur said.
She has also starred in a bridal photoshoot conceptualised by wedding photographer Louisa Coulthurst. Kaur can be seen in a white bridal gown with flowers adorning her beard in the photoshoot. Kaur has also modelled for an Indian bridal photoshoot.

Through her campaigns and modelling stints, Kaur has challenged beauty norms in a society where woman are exptected to look and behave in a certain way. In March, Harnaam became the first female to walk the runway at London Fashion Week with a beard.
Kaur is not the only female to have challenged beauty norms through her body hair. Madonna posted a picture on her Instagram profile in 2014 showing off her hairy armpit with a caption: Long hair...... Don't Care!!!!!!.
Other world record winners include Lizzy, the great Dane for the tallest female living dog (96.41 cm) and stunt man Josef Toedtling for the longest duration full-body burn (no oxygen) with 5 mins 41 seconds.
