"Resident Evil - The Final Chapter" is the sixth and the final film in the "Resident Evil" series. It is a science fiction action film written and directed by Paul WS Anderson.
As the name states, this is the final chapter so obviously, the story had to revolve around the end of the zombie plague caused by the notorious T-Virus.
Though the overall the story was pretty much predictable, slight twists and turns in the second half deserve some appreciation.
It is a delight to watch Milla Jovovich in her action avatar. Her killer looks and rugged body keep your eyes on the screen.
Action sequence is what makes this zombie series different from others in the genre but by this chapter, all of it became quite repetitive.
Elaborate visual effects play a major role in the cinematography of this series.
Though the overall set-up remained quite similar, certain specific scenes were a beautiful addition. the burning tower and Razor’s death in the trap were crafted with extreme precision.
It is a high-paced action movie which definitely doesn't bore you. It will be more entertaining for those who have followed through the series. For a new viewer, there might be a slight disconnect but overall it is a well-packaged movie in the zombie genre.
Overall rating: 3/5
For ardent fans, it is worth one visit to the theatre because it is the conclusion. However, if you have a 52-inch plasma and you have patience, then our recommendation would be to wait for the DVD or online version of the movie.
