Justin Bieber rocks Mumbai, Bollywood stars cheer with 'Purpose'

All roads to Mumbai led to the DY Patil Stadium on the evening of May 10 where Canadian singer Justin Bieber enthralled fans with hit songs from his albums.

The 23-year-old performed to hit songs including "Been You", "As Long As You Love Me",  "Pressure", "Cold Water", "Boyfriend", "The Feeling", "Love Yourself", and "Where Are Ü Now".  A bevy of Bollywood celebrities including Alia Bhatt, Arjun Rampal, Sonali Bendre and Arbaaz Khan cheered Bieber from the audience. 

The Canadian pop star arrived in Mumbai Wednesday for the Indian leg of his "Purpose" tour.

Ahead of his performance, the singer interacted with underprivileged children and handed them 100 passes for his concert.

Donning a pink hoodie, the singer was welcomed by screaming fans as he stepped out of the airport on Wednesday.

"For the past three days, without any food or sleep, we are waiting for Justin, just to see a glance of him," a fan told Reuters at the airport.

The Asia leg of Bieber's "Purpose World Tour" is set to be the the most expensive live concert in India, with a budget of $4 million.

The singer, who is staying at Mumbai's St. Regis Hotel, has reportedly been provided with Z-level security by the Maharashtra Police, in addition to his personal 8-member security.
