Actress Angelina Jolie reportedly moved into a five-bedroom house with her six children before filing for divorce from Brad Pitt, People Magazine reported.

The 41-year-old star reportedly filed for divorce from Pitt, 52, after he allegedly physically and verbally abused their children on a flight.

A real estate source told People the actress rented the house for $95,000 a month in the second week of September before filing for divorce and that she booked the house before even viewing the property.

The Us Weekly reports that Jolie has stopped communicating with her estranged husband and has "blocked all incoming text messages" as well all his phone numbers.

Brad, who is being investigated for child abuse, denies abusing his children.

A report in the Us Weekly says that the divorce has come as a shock to the actor.

"He was completely caught off-guard and blindsided and had no idea she would do this. Angelina filed the court papers a minute before the courts closed on Monday night. He didn’t have a lawyer or anything. She had threatened divorce in the past but he did not think she would file this time,” a source told the magazine.

TMZ had earlier reported that the actor is under investigation for abusing his children by the Los Angeles Police Department and the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services.

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) says it is gathering facts of the case and will evaluate whether an investigation is required.

Jolie filed for divorce citing 'irreconciliable differences', and asked for the custody of their six children - Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne. TMZ stated she was "fed up with his consumption of weed", "possibly alcohol" and "anger problem".

The actors, who started dating on the sets of Mr & Mrs Smith in 2005, got married in 2014.
