Acclaimed Indian playback singer Sonu Nigam is facing the music for ruing that he is forced to wake up to the sound of the Azan, the Islamic call to prayer done through loudspeakers.

 

Twitter slammed the singer for his intolerant comments.

Sonu Nigam is best known for his songs such as "Sandese Aate Hain" (Border), "Yeh Dil Deewana" (Pardes) and "Ab Mujhe Raat Din" (Deewana). One of the highest-paid actors in the Indian film industry, Sonu Nigam is currently a co-judge on the TV show Indian Idol 2016–17.
