The first official trailer of Toilet Ek Prem Katha has YouTubers raving. The movie features Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar of Dum Lagake Haisha fame -- who has lost 21 kgs since her debut in 2015 -- and takes us through the comical journey of a man who goes against society and builds a toilet in his house to persuade his wife to come back and live with him.
The trailer indicates how the film addresses the social issue of open defecation and the misconceptions people have around building a toilet in their homes. The actor himself acknowledges the need for building toilets in every household as a step towards the prime minister's Swachh Bharat dream.
The flick is directed by Shri Narayan Singh and co-produced by Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey.
It is set to release on August.
