While speaking at the Jammu and Kashmir assembly, chief minister Mahbooba Mufti said "whatever the state will get, it will get from India only, Jammu and Kashmir will not get anything from any other country".
She asked the people of the state that if they do not accept India's constitution, Jammu and Kashmir's constitution, which constitution are they going to follow?
She also said that Jammu and Kashmir had the most empowered assembly in the country. Referring to the Goods and Services Tax (GST), she said it was implemented in the entire country at one go but that it came to Jammu and Kashmir only after a proper debate in the assembly.
Hum J&K constitution ko, mulk ki constitution ko nahi maante, to kis ko maante hain?Fir aapko milne waala kya hai?Kahan se milega? Mai aaj record pe ye baat laana chahti hun-J&K ke jo bhi log hain- jo milne waala hai isi mulq se milega aur kahin se kuch nahi milega:Mehbooba Mufti pic.twitter.com/oEVeyuiuRP
She also requested in the assembly that the political issue should not be "hijacked" as a religious issue. She said whatever may be going on in the country, but there is harmony in the state alliance.
She said it feels great to see religious diversity in the morning when bells in the temple, gurbani and morning azaan are heard.
Ek jo political issue hai, usko religious issue ki tarah hijack na kiya jaaye. Mulq mein kya ho raha hai, kya nahin ho raha hai, magar hamari alliance mein harmony hai. Itna accha lagta hai jab subah mandir ki ghanti, uske baad azaan or din ko gurbani sunti hun: Mehbooba Mufti pic.twitter.com/69mhkySGdz
