The Congress leader said that this was the reason that he was happy to be in Pakistan
Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar, who is currently in Pakistan, on Tuesday made the controversial statement that the hatred he receives in India is much more than the love he receives in Pakisan.
Mani Shankar Aiyar said that this was the reason that he was happy to be in Pakistan.
"Thousands of people, whom I don't know, hug me, wish me. I receive much more hatred in India than the love I receive in Pakistan. So I am happy to be here. They are clapping for me because I speak of peace," Mani Shankar Aiyar said.
On Sunday, Mani Shankar Aiyar said at a function in Karachi that he loves Pakistan as much as he loves India and said only a sustained dialogue between both countries would solve the conflict between the two countries.
Mani Shankar previously found himself in the centre of a storm for calling PM Modi "neech" during a campaign for the Gujarat assembly elections.
