PM Modi, Japanese PM Shinzo Abe visit Ahmedabad's iconic mosque

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will lay the foundation stone for India's first bullet train in Ahmedabad tomorrow. The Japanese PM, who is on a two-day visit to India, will be accompanied by Indian PM Narendra Modi. 

PM Modi has made the 500-km-long high-speed rail link Mumbai and Ahmedabad a centerpiece of his efforts to showcase India's ability to build cutting-edge infrastructure.

Ahmedabad is all decked up for the visit of the two leaders. 

Billboards with photos of Modi and Abe shaking hands and national flags of the two countries have lined the Gujarat capital.

Popularly known as 'Sidi Saiyyid ki Jaali', the mosque -- which was built in 1573 --  is famous for its beautifully carved latticework (mesh) windows on the side and rear arches.
