Mysore royals Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar and his wife, Trishika Kumari Devi, welcomed a baby boy at a private hospital in the southern city on Wednesday morning, media reports said.
In a break from protocol, a pregnant Trishika, who belongs to the royal family of Rajkot, had participated in the Dussehra rituals in September, the first time in 56 years that a pregnant queen participated in the festivities, a media outlet reported.
Trishika and Yaduveer were married in June 2016. Yaduveer was legally adopted by the late Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar’s wife Pramoda Devi in 2015. He was coronated as the 27th king of Mysuru and the titular head of Wadiyar dynasty the same year.
