The top court struck down Section4(3) of UP ministers allowance Act which allowed ex-CMs in the state to occupy government bungalows.
After the apex court's order, the state government had issued a notice to six former chief ministers of the state- Narayan Dutt Tiwari, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Kalyan Singh, Mayawati, Rajnath Singh and Akhilesh Yadav, to vacate the government residences.
