WATCH: Lucknow Metro breaks down on Day 1, passengers stuck inside for an hour

The Lucknow Metro broke down on day one. 

Today was the metro's debut commercial run. 

The Lucknow Metro had been inaugurated yesterday by chief minister Yogi Adityanath and union home minister Rajnath Singh. 

Over a 100 passengers were stuck inside the train for over an hour. 

There were no lights or air-conditioning.

The train was on its way from Charbagh to the Transport Nagar metro station.  

The train was withdrawn from service and taken to the Transport Nagar depot for troubleshooting. 

The passengers were rescued through the emergency rear exit and taken to the Transport Nagar station on a different train.
