Kamala Mills fire: Hotelier arrested for sheltering accused

The Mumbai Police have arrested a Juhu-based hotelier for sheltering three owners of '1 Above' pub. 

After a police probe, Vishal Kariya confessed to having sheltered the accused trio -- Kripesh Sanghvi, Jigar Sanghvi and Abhijeet Mankar -- at his Juhu residence.

Vishal Kariya, 42, was arrested after the police recovered a vehicle that belonged to Abhijeet Mankar. 

A case under Section 216 of Indian Penal Code has been lodged against Kariya who shall be produced before the Bhoiwada court this Wednesday.

In addition to this, the Mumbai police sent the managers of the pub '1 Above' to judicial custody yesterday. 

Kevin Bawa and Lisbon Lopez of '1 Above' shall remain in custody till January 22.

The anticipatory bail application filed by Mojo Bistro's co-owner has been adjourned by the Mumbai sessions court till January 11. 

Mojo Bistro's Yug Pathak was sent to police custody till January 12 followed by his arrest on January 6.

A massive fire broke out at the Kamala Mills compound in Mumbai's Lower Parel in the early hours of December 29.

Close to 14 people died in the mishap with 12 others who suffered critical injuries.
