Veteran actor Kamal Haasan, whose entry into politics has been a matter of speculation, has made clear his intentions of forming a political party.

The actor, while speaking at a public event Friday, said that he would join hands with superstar Rajinikanth if the latter ever decides to enter politics.

"Let a signal come from here(people). Let him (Rajinikanth) join first. We will talk. Politics for me is joining hands with you. Why wouldn't I join hands with him? In the field, we discuss everything with each other. You think we won't discuss this? Or do you think we will tell you all that we discuss?"

In a recent interview to The Quint, Kamal Haasan said that no political party can offer him the platform that matches his reformatory goals in politics.

In the same interview, he hinted that he will launch a political party.

On the question of ideology, Haasan said that one should take the good part from all the ideologies - Gandhian, Marxism, Periyar - and avoid the bad.

The actor's recent meeting with Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan gave rise to speculation that the actor might join CPI (M).

But he rubbished the speculation doing the rounds in media saying it isn't imperative that he would join a political party merely because he is meeting a leader from that party.
