President Ram Nath Kovind presided over the oath taking ceremony
Justice Dipak Misra was today sworn in as the 45th Chief Justice of India.
The announcement came after a brief ceremony in the Darbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhawan with President Ramnath Kovind administering the oath of office.

The 64-year-old judge will assume office following the retirement of Justice J S Khehar yesterday. The new CJI was all praise for Justice Khehar, saying: "Justice J S Khehar is a man with a democratic attitude. He has a good heart, a creation of a good mind which is capable of transmitting good thought and energy. He is affectionately energetic and has the ability to energise others because of his contagious vibrance."
Justice Misra will remain in office until October 2, 2018.
