Biopic on Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai now has its lead heroine and it's none other than Indian actress Reem Sheikh.
Taking to Instagram, Reem shared the poster of the movie. The post read: "Poster of my first movie- Malala Yousafzai Biopic- Gul Makai."
For the film, Reem has been given special training to perfect her diction and mannerisms.
She has previously worked in television serials and also played a small part in the Amitabh Bachchan-Farhan Akhtar-starrer 'Wazir'.
The film is being produced by Anand Kumar, and apart from Reem in the lead role, also stars the late Om Puri, actress Divya Dutta, who is playing Malala’s mother, and Ragini Khanna.
According to Kumar, the film has already been shot in Bhuj and Mumbai in 2016 and the rest of the shooting will resume this month.
In a statement, Kumar said, "The biopic is 50 per cent finished and I am super curious to bring it to the silver screen soon. We have already shot war sequences and other important schedules. Now we will be shooting with our ‘Malala’ in Kashmir."
Kumar also announced that the war scenes in extreme locations have already been shot as those portions demonstrate the most difficult parts of Malala's life.
The film will be showing the distinctive shades and reality of the extreme circumstances which Malala experienced while raising her voice for the education of girls in Pakistan.
The crew is expected to start shooting amid tight security.
