India welcomes US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's statement on Mumbai terror attacks

External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj on Monday welcomed the statement made by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on the 10th anniversary of  Mumbai terror attacks and called upon Pakistan to bring to justice perpetrators of the crime.

''I welcome the statement made by US Secretary of State Mr Mike Pompeo on the 10th anniversary of Mumbai terror attacks calling upon Pakistan to bring to justice the perpetrators of the attack. I urge Pakistan to heed the call of international community and fulfil it's its international obligations by implementing sanctions against those responsible for this historic act of terror,'' said the statement tweeted by EAM spokesperson Raveesh Kumar attributed to the external affairs minister.

Earlier Swaraj paid tributes to the victims of the ''dastardly terror attacks''.

''My tributes to the victims and brave martyrs of dastardly 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks on its 10th Anniversary. We will continue to seek justice for their families and friends.  India will defeat terrorism,'' she said in a tweet earlier.

Asking Islamabad to act on Lashkar e-Taiba, the United States on the 10th anniversary of 26/11 terror attacks has announced a reward of up to $5 million for information leading to the arrest or conviction of any individual who committed, conspired to commit, aided or abetted in the execution of the 2008 Mumbai attack.

US announced the reward under its Rewards for Justice (RFJ) Programme.
