Jammu and Kashmir People's Conference chairman Sajjad Gani Lone on Friday said that PDP-Congress-NC formed 'opportunistic alliance' to stall government of third-front led by People's Conference.

"This alliance was an opportunistic alliance to ensure and stall the entry of third regional party. But now they have failed and we have emerged and we shall go to the people and then let the people decide what to do," he told a press conference.

Hitting out at National Conference chief Omar Abdullah, who criticised Lone for aligning with BJP, he said if aligning with BJP is a crime, then it was he who first committed that crime, he said.

Omar Abdullah was once the poster boy of National Democratic Alliance (NDA), he said.

''Mehbooba Mufti was also in power with them for three years. But when we do it, it's wrong,'' Lone said.

People's Conference leader also contested Mehbooba Mufti's claim to form the government in the state.

Lone asserted that he staked claim to form the government in the state as he possessed the required number of legislators in the Assembly.

"We staked the claim as we had the numbers. Had there been a floor test or had we been told to bring in the numbers, then what is within the purview of the constitution would have happened," Lone told.
