Fire breaks out at Kumbh Mela, no casualties reported
A gas cylinder exploded in a tent at the Kumbh Mela site in Prayagraj on Monday. The Kumbh begins on Tuesday.
The explosion led to a fire. There were however no injuries.
The explosion and the ensuing fire broke out at Digambar Ani Akhara.
Akhara police station inspector Bhaskar Mishra said there were no immediate reports of anyone being injured.
Firefighters were rushed to the spot.
Two vehicles and some other materials kept at the site were damaged in the fire, Mishra said.
The head of the Digambar Ani Akhada said the fire began in an adjoining tent and spread to their camp's kitchen, triggering the cylinder blast.
