Ahead of Padmaavat release, Ranveer Singh writes a heartfelt note

The reviews are out on Padmavaat. While the story has been getting a mixed response from most critics, the film is being appreciated for its technical brilliance and commendable performances. 

Ranveer Singh, the man who plays Alauddin Khilji has been lauded by most for his performance as the antagonist. Singh, along with the rest of the team of Padmaavat, watched the film on Tuesday night on IMAX 3D.

On Wednesday, Singh shared a heartfelt note about the journey the film has taken. "I am so proud of my team. Team Padmaavat for the win!"Singh wrote. 

Sharing his excitement on watching his film on IMAX, Ranveer said he was 'happy' with the reactions that he has received for his performance. The actor also thanked the film's director Sanjay Leela Bhansali with whom he has previously worked in Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani. “Sanjay Sir has given me a gift of a character that I will forever be indebted to him for in my role, more than I already am. You have shaped me into the artist that I am...” Ranveer wrote.

The film, though, hasn't got a smooth release across the country. Four states have declared that the film will not be screened in theaters while reports of violence in Gurgaon on Tuesday was reported. Security has been beefed up across the country near cinema halls that are screening the film. 

Padmaavat also features Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor.
