Double murder in Greater Noida, son key accused: Reports

A mother and her daughter were brutally murdered in at their residence in Delhi's adjoining Greater Noida area on Tuesday, media reports said, adding that the teenage son is the prime suspect.

Anjali Agarwal, 42, and her 11-year-old daughter were found lying in a pool of blood on their bed with with multiple stab wounds on their bodies which were wrapped in a blanket. A blood stained cricket bat was also found near the bodies.

Then incident took place at the 11th Avenue of Gaur City-2.

The prime suspect is Anjali Agarwal's 16-year-old son, who was the only one of the family of six who was present in the house when the incident took place and is missing, a media report said.

Ajay Kumar Sharma, Station House Officer (SHO) of Bisrakh police station was quoted by a media outlet as saying that prima facie that it appears that teenager committed the murder since, in one of the CCTV footages, he can be seen leaving the house with a bag. He added that no one entered the flat after that.

The police official said that the woman's husband also informed them that Rs 2 lakh are missing from the locker. 

Anjali's husband was on a business trip to Surat while her in-laws were away for a wedding.

The murder was discovered by a cousin, Virat, of Anjali’s husband Soumya who reached the residence after Soumya informed him that his wife and children had not been answering the phone since Monday night. Their phones were later switched off.

Virat said he then informed the police who reached the house and broke open the door.
