CM Kumaraswamy announces fuel prices cut of Rs 2 in Karnataka

Karnataka Chief Minister on Monday announced a cut in fuel prices by Rs 2, news agency ANI reported.
"Today, we are taking a decision that we are going to reduce Rs 2 on both petrol and diesel," CM Kumaraswamy noted.
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, last week, said that her government has decided to reduce the prices of petrol and diesel in the state.
She said, "We have decided to reduce the price of both petrol and diesel by Rs 1".

The proposal for the reduction in fuel prices by the TMC chief came a day after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced a decrease in petrol and diesel prices by 2 Rs each.
Earlier Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje had also announced a reduction in the prices of fuel in the poll-bound state.
Raje announced a four per cent reduction in value-added tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel which will translate into reducing fuel prices by Rs 2.5 per litre in the state.
Meanwhile, fuel prices across India rose again on Monday with petrol selling at Rs 82.06 per litre and diesel at Rs 73.78 per litre in Delhi, news agency ANI reported.
Petrol and diesel prices in the national capital went up by Rs 0.15/litre and Rs 0.6/litre respectively.
