BJP wins bypolls in Arunachal Pradesh

The results of the Arunachal Pradesh bypolls which released on Sunday demonstrated yet another victory of the BJP over the Congress party.

The BJP in Arunachal Pradesh snatched two assembly seats, Pakke-Kessang and Likabali, from the Congress.

Terming the victory as a "perfect Christmas gift" for BJP, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has promised to return the gesture. 

He said that the people of the two constituencies have shown that they are with good governance and development. 

"By electing BJP nominees they (people) foresee the accelerated development of their respective regions," the chief minister said.

Candidates BR Waghe and Kardo Nyigyor fought the bypolls from the BJP tickets.

Prime Minister thanked the people of the two constituencies for placing their faith in the BJP.
