BJP MP Hema Malini blames 'population growth' for Mumbai fire

BJP MP Hema Malini has blamed the 'population growth' of the cities for the Mumbai's deadly Kamala Mills fire in which 14 people were killed. 

The actor-turned-MP suggested caps on how many people be allowed to live in big cities.

Speaking to reporters outside the Parliament, she said ''Population is so much. The city is spreading like anything. Some restrictions should be done on the population,'' she said.

After certain population/limit, new people should not be allowed. Let them go to another city, she added. 

A massive fire broke out at a pub at the Kamala Mills complex in Lower Parel, Mumbai early Friday morning killing 14 people and injuring 21. 

The fire started around 12.30 am on the third floor of the Trade House building at the 1 Above pub where a birthday celebration was in progress.
