Assembly polls: Over 73% voter turnout recorded in Rajasthan, Telangana

The final voter turnout in Friday's Assembly polls in Rajasthan and Telangana was recorded at 74.21 and 73.20 respectively.

Polling concluded in poll-bound states on Friday evening. According to reports, Rajasthan recorded around 72.7 per cent voter turnout till 5pm. The interim voter turnout recorded in Telangana on Friday was reported at around 67 per cent. 

The turnout till 11 am was 23.4 per cent in Telangana and 21.89 per cent in Rajasthan.


Nearly 9 per cent voters had cast their votes in Telangana by 9 am and 6.11 per cent in Rajasthan.

The voter turnout during this legislative assembly election in Rajasthan was recorded less than that of the year 2013 wherein 75.23 per cent of the registered voters in the state cast their vote.

Vote was taken for all the 119 seats of Telangana assembly for the first time after the division of Andhra Pradesh and creation of India's youngest state in 2014.

Final results for both the states will be out after the counting of votes concludes on December 11.
