Aamir Khan donates Rs 25 lakh to Bihar flood victims

Actor Aamir Khan has sent a cheque of Rs 25 lakh to the Bihar's chief minister relief fund.

Aamir, star of films like "Dangal", "PK" and "3 Idiots" is known for lending his support to social causes.

The actor has previously conceptualised and hosted the TV show "Satyamev Jayate" that grapples with solutions to various social evils. 

This year 514 deaths have been reported in Bihar because of floods, affecting more than 1.5 crore lives in the region. 

 The government of Bihar has set up 2,000 relief camps to shelter two lakh people displaced by the floods.


The death toll caused by floods is the highest in Bihar as compared to the other affected states. 

Other flood affected states are Assam, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Mumbai with death tolls being 158, 152, 103, 218 and 14 consecutively.
