The Indian Army today carried out "retaliatory action" against Pakistan, killing seven soldiers and injuring four others along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, the army said.
The retaliatory action took place in forward areas along the LoC in Poonch district, the army said.
"Army has carried out retaliation against Pakistani troops across Jaglote area along the LoC in Mendhar sector of Poonch district", a senior army officer told PTI.
"In the retaliatory action, there were seven fatal causalities to Pakistani troops and four others injured," he said.
The action comes after an Indian solider was killed in Pakistani firing along the LoC in the states's Rajouri district on Saturday, PTI reported.
Today's action by the Indian Army comes the same day as security forces foiled an infiltration attempt by Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists near the LoC in Uri sector. Five terrorists were killed in the operation.
