A 23-year-old air hostess was found dead on Wednesday after allegedly falling from the third floor of a building in Kolkata.

Khongsit Clara Bansha Rai, from Sikkim, was a lead cabin attendant with IndiGo.

According to The Indian Express, two of her friends have been detained for questioning.

Rai was reportedly celebrating a friend’s birthday.

Around 4.30 am, a local resident found her lying on the ground in a pool of blood and informed the police, The Times of India reported.

Two of Rai’s friends, a man and a woman, were inside the flat when the police came in.

The friends claimed they were sleeping and didn’t know how she fell down, the TOI reported.

Police told the TOI that the sliding window of the apartment did not have iron grills and a probe is on to determine whether she accidentally fell from the window, committed suicide or was pushed,
