Diljit Dosanjh starrer "Soorma" that releases tomorrow has created quite a buzz around it, also because of the man on whose story the film is based on.
The concept of "Soorma", a biographical sports drama is now new to Bollywood but we sure hope that the treatment is fresh. See the trailer here.
Based on the life of hockey legend Sandeep Singh and the inspirational journey of his comeback to the national team, "Soorma" looks a fresh change. Talking about the film, several trade analysts feel that the film will open to a good start. According to trade expert Amul Mohan, "Soorma" will earn Rs 3.50 crore on its opening day.
According to trade analyst Girish Johar, "Soorma" will have a decent opening day of around Rs 2.5 crore but added that if the word of mouth is positive, the film might even make Rs 3 crore and beyond. He feels that the film will do a better job in Punjab due to the presence of Diljit Dosanjh. The business in the rest of the country, however, depends on its reception by the audience and critics.
If the film opens to these numbers, it will be great as apart from Diljit, there’s no big star.
"Soorma" is written and directed by Shaad Ali and produced by Sony Pictures Networks Productions, Chitrangda Singh and Deepak Singh. The film brings together a new pair -- Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu.
