In a happy news for the farmers of India, superstar Amitabh Bachchan has revealed paying off the debt of 1398 farmers from the state of Uttar Pradesh amounting to a total of Rs 4.05 crore.
In a gratitude-filled post on Monday night, Amitabh wrote on his blog about making arrangements for the farmers to receive their money. He also mentioned that he has arranged for some 70 farmers to visit him in Mumbai and receive their letters.
"Gratitude leans across to the desire of removing some of the burdens that farmers continue to suffer from... It was Maharashtra first, when over 350 farmers loans were taken care of... now it's UP and 1398 of them that had outstanding of loans on banks has been done with an outlay of 4.05 crore.
"And the inner peace it generates when the desired is completed," he wrote.
This isn’t the first time when Amitabh has extended a helping hand to the farmers as he previously helped 350 farmers from Maharashtra by paying off their loans.
He also announced that he has personally arranged for 70 selected farmers to travel to Mumbai to receive their bank letters.
