Finland's annual Air Guitar Championship was launched in 1996 with an aim to bring peace. As the name suggests, the participants pretend to play an imaginary guitar during the competition.
The participants from all over the world first compete nationally, and then head to Finland for the finals. The winners of the championship are awarded gold, silver and bronze medals.
An American, Airistotle Burns was declared the winner of the Air Guitar Championship this year. This was his fourth attempt at winning the gold. Previously, he won silver medals for the past three years only to vault to the top to become the air guitar champion in 2016.
